Awards:

Some people think graphic design awards represent design being duly considered by people whose knowledge, experience, and talent make their acceptance a real honor in an industry of ephemera. Others see them as cheap self-congratulations that miss the real point of the work they dishonor through their lauding of the superficial. Who am I to argue with either? I was once told that a product line was selling 15% above high projections and that everyone attributed that to the design of the packaging. I’ll take that over another embossed certificate any day but independent confirmation of quality is nothing to sneeze at.
